What is antibody and antigen?

Antigens are molecules proficient in motivating an immune response. Each antigen has different surface features, or epitopes, causing in specific responses. Antibodies (immunoglobins) are Y-shaped proteins produced by B cells of the immune system in reply to contact with antigens.
