If Venus has an atmosphere, why doesn't it support the kind of life that is now found on earth?

    Venus orbits the sun at an average distance of 108.2 million km and earth orbits at 149.6 million km. This makes the planet too hot to live on because it is closer to the sun and the atmospheric pressure is much higher than earths so we would be crushed if we were on Venus
