Describe two ways in which fungi differ from other heterotrophic organisms in how they obtain the digest their food.

    Fungi digest their food outside their body (extracellularly). They excrete enzymes that digest their food and later absorb it. Therefore they obtain their food more similar to animals than plants. They are incapable of obtaining energy through light (photo) hence they obtain their nutrients from decaying matter (saprophytic) or through parasitic relationships
