How are monocots and dicots different?

    Difference between monocot and dicot:

    1. Monocot have one cotyledons while dicot have two cotyledons.

    2. In monocot the root system is of fibrous type while in dicot it is composed of tap root.

    3. In monocot vascular tissue are scattered while in dicot it is present in ring form.

    4. Parallel venation in leaves is the characteristic feature of monocot. In dicot leaves have net like venation.

    5. In monocot floral parts or three or multiple of three, while dicot have 4 or 5 or multiple of these.
