    Colinearity is the concept that the sequence of codons in the DNA of a gene has a direct correspondence with the sequence of amino acids in the protein. If we examine the location of three codons for three amino acids in a protein, the order of the codons in the gene is always the same as the order of the amino acids in the protein.
