If an animal cell were placed into a solution of water taken from the ocean, what would happen to the cell

    In the case that there is more salt in the solution than in the cell, a hypotonic reaction will occur. Water will flow out of the cell to the more concentrated solution. The cell will burst or get significantly larger.
