Meiosis is a type of cell division in which the parent cell divides into four haploid daughter cells. It takes place in the gametes cells. The process takes place in two stages; meiosis 1 and meiosis II. In this case, During anaphase I of meiosis I, the homologous chromosomes separate and head towards the opposite poles of the cell.
