What is the structural difference between ATP and ADP

The only difference is how many phosphate chains are in the molecule. ATP stands for adenosine tri-phosphate. That means it has an adenosine group and three adenosine chains. ADP stands for adenosine di-phosphate. It is the same structure, save that it has two phosphate groups instead of three.
