    Descending limb of the loop of the Henle is the nephron where the filtrate has higher osmolality than the blood when it enters and lowers osmolality of blood when it leaves.

    Descending loop of Henle is where the remaining filtrates travel all through towards the renal tubule to the descending loop of Henle and it is permeable to water than solutes. When filtrate travels through descending limb of the loop of henle to the medulla of kidney the higher osmolality of interstitial fluid in renal medulla causes fifteen percent of the original filtered water which is reabsorbed by osmosis causing the increase of osmolality of the filtrate.
