Water soluble vitamins can be excreted safely in the urine without the concern for overdosage as compared to fat soluble vitamins that are easily stored in adipose tissue and poses a risk for overdosage. The vitamin B complex (niacin, thiamin, pyridoxine, folic acid, riboflavin, cobalamin, etc.) and vitamin C (ascorbic acid) are water soluble vitamins. The fat soluble vitamins are vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, and vitamin K.
