What's the difference between primary succession and secondary succession

    Primary succession occurs on newly exposed surfaces - it is an ecological change that begins in an area where no remnants of an older community

    Secondary succession occurs in a disturbed area where remnants or previous ecosystems (coil and even plants) remain
