According to genetic theory, the blossom color in the second generation of a certain cross of sweet peas should be red or white in a 3:1 ratio. that is, each plant has probability 3/4 of having red blossoms, and the blossom colors of separate plants are independent.     p = 3/4 = 0.75

    q = 1/4 = 0.25

    P (red) = 12c9 * 0.75^9 * 0.25^3

    = 220 * 0.07508 * 0.015625

    = 0.2580

    So the probability that exactly seven out of ten of these plants have red bloossoms is 0.2580.
