DNA is double-stranded, so one strand is inside the nucleus and the other wraps around the nucleus. DNA tightly coils around proteins and condenses into chromosomes, which fit in the nucleus. DNA is naturally much smaller than the cell nucleus so it easily fits inside the nucleus.

Specialized suite of proteins and complex DNA strands tightly coils and condenses to allow the DNA to be packaged into nuclear structures called chromosomes, which fit in the nucleus. Moreover, the tightly coiled molecules houses the genes that an organism needs to grow and survive.
