Why do people with "inherited cancer" often develop cancer at a relatively young age

    Environmental cancer is usally the result of damage to the cells caused by the environment. This damage accumulates over the life of a person. Inherited cancer is the result of genetic abnormalities present at birth. Since there is no need for damage to accumulate, the cancer develops earlier.
