    Ancient species of homo sapiens have been found on all continents except Antarctica. Reaching Antarctica would allow one to venture through treacherous or dangerous waters, and to permanently settle there where temperatures range from - 10 degrees C to - 30 degrees C without any nearby place with slightly warmer temperatures to allow gradual adaptation would be impossible without modern technology.
