    The practice where advanced learners are separated from regular learners is referred to as tracking. Tracking is the separation of pupils by academic ability into groups within a school. Under this practice, the entire school population is assigned to classes based on each student’s overall academic achievement which may be above average, normal, or below average. Students with high academic achievements are placed in advanced or honors classes.
