What are the major differences between the male and female reproductive systems? and here's a tougher question-what are the similarities? which structures are homologous vs which structures are derived from the same embryonic tissues?

    Differences between the male and female reproductive system include:

    Males continuously produce sperm, while females are born with all her eggs completely formed.

    Males produce sperms, while the females produce ovums

    Females undergo menstruation while male do not

    Similarities includes;

    The reproductive organs of both develop from similar embryonic tissue and therefore, they are homologous

    They both mature during puberty, when sex hormones are released.

    They both have the gonads

    They both secrete sex hormones

    Reproductive sex organs for both male and female are derived from the same embryonic tissues and therefore they are considered homologous tissues or organs.
