The hardy weinberg formula is: p2 + 2pq + q2 = 1 Homozygous dominant (healthy) is represented by p2 while homozygous recessive (diseased) is represented by q2. This leaves 2pq as the heterzygous carrier, as it has one p allele and one q allele.
