I believe that evolution is a series are genetics passed down creating a new species as it moves along. when an organism mates with another it creates new genetics creating a new species. it continues like that for years. evolution also has to do with natural selection. when natural selection occurs different traits occur as well, an example would be a polar bear. a polar bear is in the bear family and has passed down genetics from bears. but it has a thick coat for the cold weather. the bear has evolved due to natural selection. so basically evolution is occuring when different genetics and traits are being passed down as the organism evolves time after time.
