Why would we choose an embryonic mass of cells for procedure 14.3 in which to study for stages of mitosis?

    Embryonic mass cells are in constant division, making it much easier to find good examples of each phase of mitosis. The root and the stem are the best place to look because they contain meristematic tissue that retains the ability to divide throughout the life of the plant.
