Photorespiration is a light dependent reaction that uptake molecular oxygen and release of carbon dioxide from organic compund. Photorespiration is linked to photosynthesis by ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase. However, consequence of mutation in plant due to photorespiration deficiency will result into more cellular damage from harmful products of the light reactions of photosynthesis.
