Being an omega-3-fatty acid, Alpha-linolenic acid, has numerous benefits; it reduces inflammatory bowel disorders and cardiovascular disorders. Linoleic acid, on the other hand, is an Omega-6-fatty acid that is required in small amounts. High intake of linoleic acids causes health detriments such as chronic inflammation. The ratio of omega-6 to omega - 3 should, therefore, be lower, ideally 1.5:1.
