    Living things grow and develop.

    Living things reproduce.

    Living things respond to their environment.

    Living things adapt to their environment

    A heart does not reproduce or respond to it's environment

    A human heart does not live on its own

    without the human brain, the heart is dead

    any organ in our human body is not a living thing
