    The key factors that contribute to a female primate's success at feeding includes; a) Distribution or location of food; the location of food across the landscape and the amount of energy the the female has to expend to collect food; such that if the food is abundant throughout the forest she will use very little energy in gathering food. b) Quality of food - this reflects the amount of energy provided and the ease with ease with which food can be digested.

    c) Availability of food; this explains the reason why many primates are restricted to equatorial regions.
