    To perform this procedure correctly the nurse should Clamp the NG tube for 30 minutes following the administration of the medication. Antacids are class of drugs that neutralize the acidity in the stomach. They contain elements such aluminium, magnesium or calcium which acts as alkali (bases) to counteract the stomach acids resulting in increase of pH.
