Idiosyncrasy means unusual or odd. It is used to show peculiarity. Thinking of stress usually means something negative thus would lead to giving the wrong impression of it's nature. Stress would only mean a reaction to a demanding or sometimes a changing environment. In the following idioms, the best expression would be "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" which means not all people have the same opinion on what is beautiful or attractive that means if correlate with stress it is up to the person on how he or she view stress, may it be a negative one or a positive one.
