    They will likely be detrimental to her self-esteem. When Pat is constantly being belittled by people for things that she may or may not have done, it will likely make her question her worth and what she is able to contribute to those friendships. The more her friends belittle and degrade her, the more likely it will be that she'll begin to see herself as worthless and not a good person to be around.
