    Community acquired pneumonia is caused by a bacteria pathogen called streptococcus pneumoniae. Pneumonia is an infection that causes the inflammation of the air sacs in one or both lungs. The air sacs maybe filled with fluid or pus, resulting to cough with pus, fever, chills and difficulty in breathing. The first line drug for an adult diagnosed with community acquired pneumonia would be Azithromycin. Azithromycin is an antibiotic used to treat many bacterial infections.
