Demolishing a building involves pulling down the whole structure and building from the scratch while renovation doesn't involve pulling down the whole structure. It involves pulling down some parts of the building or simply modifying the building.

An advantage of Demolition is that the individual is able to build from the scratch which permits him/her to have the exact structure wanted.

A disadvantage of this is the high cost incurred on demolition and building from the scratch.

An advantage of Renovation is the less cost involved since it only requires some modifications and not total pulling down of the structure.

A disadvantage of Renovation is the inability to get the exact building taste the individual hoped for.
