Drinking water should have the pH 7.

    Explanation:

The pH of a substance gives information about its nature. pH is obtained by taking the negative logarithm of the concentration of H + ions. When a substance is acidic its pH is less than 7.

When the substance is basic its pH value is greater than 7. The pH of a neutral solution is 7. Drinking water shouldn't have an acidic or basic nature.

If drinking water turns acidic or basic it will create problems to the physiological system of the organisms consuming it. Thus water should have the pH value 7 to be suitable for drinking.
