How does bacteria grow?

    The bacteria itself doesn't grow, but how many you end up with over time does. The "colony" grows, the group of bacteria. Basically, a bacteria splits into 2, and then those split into 2, and so on. This is called asexual reproduction. Regular sexual reproduction involves 2 different partners, but a bacteria is basically cloning itself so it's genetically the same. Bacteria grows asexually.
