A scientist is conducting an experiment to test a hypothesis. If the data from the experiment does not support the hypothesis, the research is not a waste of time because - A no additional research needs to be conducted B the question was answered and a new hypothesis can be made C the results do not have to support the hypothesis D the hypothesis was just a guess and does not have to be supported by data

    The idea of experimentation is to see what happens in practice.

    You could predict what could happen and that's where the hypothesis came from.

    If the experiment in practice has the same results as the hypothesis, good you can move forward.

    If it's not, it was worth it to know your hypothesis was wrong and need to research to get things better and create a new type of experiment to get data.
