    The cell undergoes different cycles in order to duplicate or reproduce, the different phases are the G0 phase at which the cell rests, the G1 phase at which the cell becomes metabolically active and increases its size.

    The S phase which is the synthesis phase at which the cell duplicates it's DNA, the G2 phase at which the cell synthesizes proteins that are required for dividing and prepares to divide and finally the M phase or the mitotic phase at which the cell completely divides.
