During a fight-or-flight response, epinephrine is released into the body's circulatory system and transported throughout the body. Some cells exhibit a response to the epinephrine while other cells do not.     The cell signalling represents the interaction of one cell to another which involves the chemicals called messenger molecules or hormones, the receptors and a transduction pathway.

Since epinephrine is a messenger molecule, therefore, it will bind to only those cells which will have the receptors for it. Since all cells do not possess epinephrine receptors, therefore, all cells d not respond to the molecule.
