Discuss the regulation of glucose metabolism in the body?

Glucose intake intake in the body is quite essential as it is the simplest form of carbohydrate that is absorbed for energy by the body, it must be well regulated in order not to have too much of it which is control by an hormone called the pancreas which regulates the level of glucose in the body. When the pancreas is faulty it leads to inability of the body to regulate sugar intake which causes what is called diabetes mellitus

The regulation of glucose metabolism in the body is done by the insulin harmone. Insulin harmone is responsible for the absorption of glucose molecules by the cell. It also reduces blood sugar and providing the glucose to the cell for generating energy. When glucose concentration is very low, glucagon release by the pancreas which gives order to the live to release the glucose which is present in stored form and the blood sugar levels increases.
