How does non renewable energy provide us more energy than renewable energy?

Renewable energy resources, whilst polluting the environment a lot less, are not as efficient as non-renewable energy resources. This means that non-renewable energy sources provide us with far more energy than renewable as they convert more of the chemical potential energy in the fuels to electrical energy, whereas renewable ones like solar cells only convert about 10% of light energy to electrical.
