In the G1 phase "ensures everything ready for DNA synthesis" and in the G2 phase the "In spite of the gap between DNA cell grows and produce protein" takes place in the normal cell cycle.

    Explanation:

During the G1 phase important cell cycle and control mechanism happens with the active phase of cell cycle. Here, in this situation everything is ready for the DNA synthesis whereas in the G2 phase the gap that exists between the DNA synthesis and also in mitosis, also the cell will continue its growth and production of the new protein. Both the G1 and G2 happens in the interphase and mitotic division takes place.
