The erytrocytes by phagocytosis inside the liver, by the kupffer cell breaks down into the haemoglobin, later, inside the liver the globin part is separated to be used in proteins formation and the iron is separated from the heme group and could be that some part goes to the narrow bones and other part of the heme group turns into bilirubin and goes to the bile and later to the gall bladder.
