An area's latitude on the surface of the Earth affects the weather because it changes the intensity of the sun's light that the area receives. Things like mountains affect the weather by directing air currents, which can send storms to you, or keep them away. If you live in a place with lots of vegetation, it will be more humid, and warmer, because the plants retain the heat.
