Familial Alzheimer's disease os the type of inherited dementia.

Usually dementias do not pass on to the generations but some do.

    Explanation:

If a parent has a mutated gene that causes this inherited disorder, each child has a 50% chance of inheriting it. The presence of the gene means that the person will eventually develop Alzheimer's disease, usually in their 40s or 50s.

Alzheimer's disease is an irreversible, progressive brain disorder in which brain cell death occurs. It is a neurodegenerative disease, that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills and, eventually, henders doing the simplest tasks.

In Alzheimer's, the tissue has fewer and fewer nerve cells and connections. It usually occurs in late 50s or mid 60s.
