I don't think this question belongs to biology section nut if understood you well

2-2=0

x^2-2=x^0

x^0=1

Then x^4-x^0=x^4-1=x^3

So x^4-x^2-2=x^3

Now the equation is x^3=0

The same is x^3=0^3

so x=0
