    There would be 4 codons.

    Explanation:

when RNA is made during the process of transcription, there is one nucleotide int he RNA molecule for every one nucleotide from the template strand of DNA molecule.

So a DNA nucleotide of 12 nucleotides will produce an RNA sequence which also has 12 nucleotides.

The nucleotides of RNA are one codon. Since codons do not overlap, a sequence of 12 nucleotides will contain 4 codons.

    12 : 3 = 4
