Natural selection is often called survival of the fittest. However, often times breeding or artificial selection will create offspring create population different from the population of their ancestors.

    Natural selection results in a change in both individuals and the population. It is the change in individuals that eventually lead to a change in the whole population. In natural selection, individuals with certain traits that are more favorable to the environment get to survive and reproduce.
