What is involved in the cycling of carbon within the environment

    Answer: Carbon enters the atmosphere as carbon dioxide from respiration and combustion. Most of the carbon they consume is exhaled as carbon dioxide that was formed during aerobic respiration. The animals and plants eventually die.
