    29% 0f the solar radiation reflects back to Earth. 23% is absorbed in the atmosphere by water vapor and ozone. 48% that passes through the atmosphere is absorbed by the surface of the earth. This energy heats land and water.

    When the solar energy reaches the earth, the atmosphere reflects 59% equivalent to the sunlight. Approximately 50% is absorbed by the surface. 20% is absorbed by gases in the environment. 25% is reflected by dust, clouds and gases. 5% is reflected by the surface back into the atmosphere
