Helicase is an enzyme that separates the double helix of the dna into two separate strands. How do you think helicase does this?

    It unzips the double helix structure by breaking the hydrogen bonds.

    Explanation:

    Basically, the enzyme runs down the center of the double helix separating the strands like a zipper so other enzymes needed for DNA replication such as DNA polymerase and topo-isomerase can come and add complimentary bases to the separated strands.
