Do you think Biotechnology can be used in anyway in a case where someone has been bit by a venomous snake? If so how?

    Snake biting is a major public health problem for low-income countries. Till now only antiserum derived from animals are use for the treatment against snakebite venom.

    But there are many innovation in biotechnology to manufacture antivenoms against venomous snake. Some of the innovations are as following:

    Use of DNA immunisation techniques: In this technique, horses are immunised with toxin-encoding DNA and then antivenom is prespraed from their DNA. Recombinant antivenoms: in this technique antibodies in the animal-derived antivenom are replaced with recombinant human version and then entivenom will be prepared by cell cultivation.

    These innovation in biotechnology for the preapartion of antivenoms are easier to produce and more cost-effective.
