    Human immunodeficiency virus lead to Acquired immune deficiency syndrome which inhibit the body defence mechanisms.

    White blood cells or leucocytes are responsible for fighting infections in the body i. e they act as body defence. When Some have HIV, the white blood cells are weakened and reduced thereby destroying body defence against infections.
