Harriet had liposuction several years ago, but has since gained back all the weight lost through the procedure. She does not understand her weight gain because adipocytes are incapable of dividing. Provide a plausible explanation.

    Liposuction as to do with the removal of connective tissue and adipose cells which cannot undergo cell division.

    It is nevessary for the other body cells to undergo usual cell division and distribute nutrients to neighbouring cells in the body. This will cause Harriet to regain the lost fat. Therefore, it is necessary for her to be placed on a strict diet to avoid recurrence.
