    there are two categories of bias;

    Motivational Cognitive

    Motivational Bias; As the name implies is a conscious tendency to favor a particular party for self serving or personal motivation

    Cognitive; On a more unconscious level, cognitive bias occurs when people tend to see what they expect to see. this distortion of a persons perception or thought process can affect decision making, having an influence of the findings of a forensic experts

    Everyone is susceptible to bias biases can be as a result and reinforced through a persons upbringing, culture and other life experiences to include education and occupation. in the context of forensic science and court testimony bias can present problems to the accurate adjudication of justice because all forensic evidence is subject to examination by a human who unavoidably or unintentionally hold certain biases.
